felines and botany, but first, love

Before the cats and botany:
I learned of this through my friend Kat. Summer is asking for help for her father, who is going through a very difficult time right now.
You can read about it here and find out how to help.
I love these hand-cut collages by Stephen Eichhorn. They take something I love, animal, and seamlessly combine it with something I am fascinated by, botany.
I told my friend a couple of days ago that I love how colleges have "arts and science" departments, as though it's common knowledge that the two should be married to each other. I think artists and scientists share a deep passion and eagerness to learn more about the subjects they choose to study, and have this insatiable urge to delve deeper and deeper into small things until there is nothing left to discover. Except that there always is.

Dear Amanda,

I was so touched by Summer and her sweet Daddy. I lost my Daddy 9 years ago (I'm pretty sure I've already told you that) and their story really impacted me in a big way. I'm working on a little somethin' somethin' to send to Daddy Butch. I hear he really likes York Pettermint patties.

love love,
Kitty

p.s. Those kittie's are adorable.

Ohhh, i love this post! Thank you for sending me the link to Butch and Summer. So sweet. I'll definitely send a card.

Fantastic cat and botany images! And I love your take on "arts and science" - nothing left to discover, except that there always is.. How true!... Love, Mummy

Dear Kat,
I'm really glad you posted about Summer and her father for the rest of us to read. Because of you, my mom and I both posted about it. :)
I think your dad must be so proud of you. <3
Love,
Amanda

and thanks, mommy, for everything, as always :)
